Stroll around Paris Gardens in 1949! An elegant and versatile hat - a staple for your Summer wardrobe.
Made out of a beautiful airy woven, natural material with a decent bow in wither the front (1st pic) or in the back (2nd pic) . Blocked on a true vintage 1940s wooden hat block, this stiffened, lightweight hat features a slightly curved edge, a wired brim, a Velvet bow hand-sewn to the top, a sewn in sweatband and a shallow/flat crown. A typical platter hat style with the crown being smaller than your head, making the hat sit on top. Worn straight or angled, on the forehead, middle head or back of your head - whatever style you prefer.
Please note: The hat is designed to be shorter in the back and longer in the front. So back and front of the hat cannot be swapped. Please choose your preference of a front or back bow which will be hand-sewn to the hat (the bow must be sewn on as otherwise it would slip from the crown).
The hat comes with a hat elastic and a metal comb attached on the front inner hat band - especially useful to keep the hat in place when wearing it on the back-head ('halo' style) as the comb anchors the hat in your hair (no wind will ever blow it way) and the hat elastic secures further hold in the back.
Diameter (edge to edge) approx. 39cm.
Diameter (crown) approx. 16cm/ Circumference crown approx. 51cm
For reference: circumference of mannequin heads: 55cm (ponytail) and 51cm (open hair)

Storage recommendation: Colored Straw hats are best stored in a box (you could use the shipping box) to prevent the colors from
fading through constant sunlight and to keep the hat stiff over the years (away from too much moisture).
